Notes and Trivia

Reba was born in Point Pleasant. Growing up, she heard the same rumors of The Mothman that others did. Anytime something scared her, her brothers would claim the Mothman did it. As she grew older, during her teenage years, she saw it as nothing but local folklore, and often enjoyed the Mothman festival every September. However, her last year of high school changed everything. The weeklong festival commenced as it did every year, and Reba was enjoying one of those days with her friends, when her older brothers happened upon them. Playing a practical joke, her brothers convinced Reba and her friends that the seniors were to do a local ‘right of passage’ and spend the night in an area outside of town known as "the TNT area", the site of a former World War II munitions plant.

In truth, her brothers had made costumes and they were going to scare Reba and her friends. However, the practical joke went unnervingly wrong. As the sun set, they watched Reba getting ready and reminded her of all the spooky sounds and things that happened when she was a kid. Of course, they caused most of those scary sounds and such themselves back then to scare her, and the rest had been just normal bumps in the night, like the house settling. However, as she did her hair and makeup, her mind did recall all those scary things, and those emotional memories set her on edge. Meanwhile, her brothers made their way to the TNT area and dressed. However, unbeknownst to any of these people, in 1966, a group of cultists managed to summon a greater demon. At first, the demon followed their orders, scaring the local populace away from the area outside of town, where eyewitnesses say the large winged creature in the dark. This would become the ‘Mothman’, and for a time, it worked! The cultists continued gaining power and intended to slowly take over the two for themselves, but things changed. The demon belonged to Aka Manah, and it slowly twisted their thoughts, sowing distrust and malice between them. However, the leader of the cult and his apprentice saw this, and, bided their time as they tried to find a way to banish the creature.

In 1967, the leader abandoned the cult from fear that the Akamanian demon had become too powerful, insidiously weaving itself into the psyches of the others, so he fled the town. The demon gave chase and caused the Silver Bridge to collapse as the leader drove across it. He and forty-six others died as a result, so the demon thought it had won. It planned to use the cult for its own ends, and the apprentice behaved as if he wanted to help. Eventually, during a ceremony meant to warp the humans into lesser demons, the apprentice purposely ruined the ritual and fled, sealing the demon and the human cultists into a chamber of the old installation. Though the demon tried to destroy the door, it was a blast door meant to withstand the force of a massive explosion in the case that the artillery plant’s storage might become compromised. In anger, it tore the cultists to shreds and sat in the dark bunker for decades. The apprentice fled the area never to return, and the stories and sightings of the Mothman became what they are today. However, Reba’s brothers, while waiting for her and her friends to arrive, explored the old factory, and they found the blast door.

The demon felt the mortal minds nearby, and stirred for the first time since 1967. It reached out with its demonic powers and planted a seed in the brothers. Using curiosity, it urged them to open the door. The brothers did just that, unknown pawns, and they opened the door wide. They stood a moment, and pointed their flashlight into the room. They saw bones, strange ritual altars, and then the light reflected red back at them. It took them a moment to realize they were eyes! The demon flew at the terrified humans, and it managed to grab one of the two brothers. Looking into the mortal’s eyes, it made his thoughts dark and twisted. Now a slave, he helped the demon get the other brother. Reba and her friends arrived with no idea what laid in wait.

Though her friends became slaves to the demon, one by one, Reba managed to resist. Throughout the night, she fought hard, killing her own friends. She used anything she could find as a weapon, and eventually all that remained were the demon and her two brothers. The demon used them against her, and she almost fell for the ruse, but had to slay them to survive. Finally, it was her and the demon, and it lied and deceived her, and did all it could to corrupt her mind, and, in truth, she almost gave in- until a single gunshot echoed in the old factory. The demon fell to its kneed, and Reba saw a bullet hole between its eyes. A look of shock twisted its face and then it burned away into ash as if it had never been there. When Reba turned to see who fired the shot, she was met with the two agent Mareks- Mara and Lana. They saw the evidence of what she had to go through, and offered her a life in the BDA. Reba accepted. After almost falling to the demon, she has a very distrustful psyche. Everyone could be a potential pawn of demonic powers. She does not even trust the super suits the other BDA agents wear claiming that anything that comes from something evil- is probably evil, too.

The BDA never encountered anything as powerful as Nergal, and they have called some of the strongest agents to Dallas, Texas to stop the corruption. After so many years of demon slaying, Reba is one of the best. She utilizes the same tactics she used against her poor friends, guerrilla warfare- hit and run.
