Biography
The Anax: Call of the Cursed One
In The Anax: Call of the Cursed One, Sadie is part of the Female Phantom Finders, a group which involves Evelyn Addams. They had heard of hauntings on a nearby island, so went to check it out. In the novel, Sadie successfully hides from The Anax for many hours. Finding Evelyn, they stay together, before Sadie decides to split off again. The Anax finds her, and subjects her to her worst fear. She becomes Shadowed shortly later.

Sadie is a member of the all woman paranormal society called the Female Phantom Finders. She hails from Warwick, Rhode Island, and voraciously watched ghost hunter shows. Skeptics would often claim that ghost hunters did not use equipment correctly, but she found the concept confusing. Science should promote exploration of ideas, and not every detection device must rigidly be used for only one task or in only one way. Thank goodness, innovative scientists throughout history did not follow such shortsightedness. That closed mindedness bothered the young woman. She set out to document phenomena as often as possible. Regardless of the amount of evidence she obtained, skeptics would not take her seriously, and she often felt alienated and angered. How could they make a bold claim saying that her evidence was wrong or invalid? They would make the claim without actually studying the phenomenon at the same location with similar devices.
Eventually, she met Kaya online, and moved to New York just to be a part of the FPF. Sadie handles the technical aspects of the group. She loves using recorders and cameras to find evidence of the deceased, but Sadie can be a gossip! Other than that character flaw, she organizes and inventories equipment, pours through massive amounts of recorded data without complaint, and often tries to find new tech for her team's investigations.
Transformation
The Anax found her, and though she fled, she eventually ended up in the nursery, and there, The Anax used her fear of dolls. She had to live through her pediophobia. In her corruption to become a Shadowed, the Anax locks her inside of a body that can only be moved by moving a small doll. Sadie is aware inside, but must mechanically follow on the outside. The Anax plays with her movements, before having her strip. As Sadie faces more and more of her fear, she is asked to perform a task to have it end. She is to take the original small doll, inside herself. The doll grabs her quickly, as her fear spikes, and merges with Sadie. As Sadie gives in to the doll, her eyes go white, her fear disappears, and her fetish takes place. Her skin turns plastic, and she identifies as a doll. Given she doesn't need her soul anymore, she gives it to The Anax. He then twisted her soul into an abomination.

Sadie ran away in the panic caused when The Anax first appeared. She tried hiding in the woods, but barely escaped when the Shadowed found her. She fled to Ravenhurst Manor, and went to the furthest point she could find in the wine cellar, and cowered there, hoping to wait out the night. She might have stayed there until The Anax found her, but Eve stumbled upon her first. She followed Eve through Ravenhurst Manor, but became disenfranchised with her decision, and opted to hide alone again. That decision did not take her far.
In life, she had always fantasized about sadomasochism, but never actually experienced it. Some of her fantasies were borderline snuff, and she felt ashamed and embarrassed, but after feeling his cursed touch, he liberated her darkness, and she set out to find Eve. She managed to find her in the forest, but Eve spotted Sadie in time, and used a dark spell to encase her in ice. Eventually, the ice melted away, and she continued hunting her prey. Evelyn banished her with the rest of the Shadowed into the Outer Darkness, where she delights in torturing lost souls she comes upon. Her mark remained left in the real world though, as much of her equipment recorded what happened that night- waiting for someone to find it.
