Biography

Pre-Cult of Corruption: The Summoning

Upon a time there were three Marek sister: Nora, Mara, and Lana. Mara was the middle child of the trio. She always seemed egotistical and independent to the other two, and she excelled at academics and athletics. For the most part, her life was uneventful until High School. While she studied and practiced sports, her oldest sister, Nora, was spending time studying magic and occultism. Nora had always felt like the black sheep of the family and had retreated into herself as time went by. By the time the demon came, she was too far gone.

Nora communed with dark spirits and evil forces, and she turned out to hold necromantic abilities! Needing a place to hide away from prying eyes, she did all her dark work near Pope Lick Creek in her neighborhood of Fisherville. There, she summoned strange forces, and these dark entities helped spurn her towards darker and darker spells. Eventually, she managed to raise a dead animal to life, creating an unnatural mockery. She felt the velvet, seductive lure of dark magic and always wanted to cast more. Eventually, her work drew the attention of Ah Pwash. The demon saw that he might use her to not only return to the Earth, but that she would make an excellent cult leader and concubine. The demon made contact, and Nora’s darkness grew exponentially! The area around Pope Lick Creek became tainted with monsters, and it was only a matter of time before Ah Pwash would call on Nora to make a blood sacrifice to him. When that day came, she did not even try to resist. She had fallen in lust with his power and in love with the unholy demon lord. She desired to obey his every whim, and his order was to prove her faith and sacrifice her family in his name.

Nora cooked dinner at home, with the family like always, but little did they realize that she had drugged the meal. One by one, they fell into a deep sleep, and one by one, she dragged them to her father’s truck. Once they were bound and gagged, she drove them to Pope Lick Creek where her ritual altar sat in the dark night, thirsty for blood. The drugs kept her family mostly unconscious until she began her dark ritual. As the family awoke, confused, they screamed and cried into their gags. Mara would never forget the wild madness in Nora’s eyes as she turned towards the family, naked, a cruel curved knife in hand. First, calling out to her lord, Ah Pwash, she slit her father’s throat and rubbed his blood on her face and privates. She turned to her mother next. At that point, with fierce determination and anger, Mara managed to get a hand free, but by that point her parent’s corpses had drained of blood and Nora stooped down to sacrifice Mara next. Mara’s arm whipped around and she punched her older sister with all her raging might. As Nora hit the ground, reeling in pain, Mara got the knife and cut her bindings and turned to do the same for Lana. Lana was in hysterics sobbing and crying, and Mara was careful not to cut her, when Nora suddenly leapt on her back. The two scuffled about the dark area, the only light from a large fire atop the nearby unholy altar.

Some say that Mara slew her sister that night, others say that Nora escaped vowing vengeance on her sibling, only Mara knows for sure. When the girls climbed out of the woods, there were several BDA vans. Mara proved to be an outstanding agent. One of the best in a century, and she even faced off with the famous Dionyza and managed to walk away from the encounter. However, she seemed changed somewhat by the ordeal. For years she followed every order to the letter, followed all the BDA laws and codes, and never wavered from protocol. However, after her battle with the succubus, she has become slightly more independent. No one knows what transpired between her and the succubus, but other agents have often caught Mara staring out of windows or sitting in her office in the dark, grimacing as if she is recalling dark memories. Even with that being the case, Agent Marek is still at the top, and the BDA sent her, specifically to end the Nergalian corruption sweeping through Dallas.

Cult of Corruption: The Summoning

In Cult of Corruption: The Summoning, Mara is a BDA agent, in charge of facing the menace brought forth by Nergal. Very suspicious of Bo Wyatt, she is a well-intentioned agent.
