Biography
Pre-The Anax: Call of the Cursed One
Gloria was the eldest daughter of Roger Addams. She always delighted in stirring up trouble, even among her own family. Gloria could be very petty, and she relished the moment at Anaximanes Ravenhurst’s wedding when she exclaimed that the justice of the peace had been killed. Watching the man grow so upset filled her with glee. Later, when Ravenhurst punched Roger Addams in the nose, even though it was her own father whom he hit, she got a happy thrill at watching the drama unfold. She felt likewise after going to fetch Roger and sending him to Eliza’s grave to catch Ravenhurst. However, after following the lynch mob into the forest and the formation of The Anax, she and Luella were lost in the cold rain of that Halloween night, and never found their way from the forest. They died together from sickness in the woods- their bodies were never recovered.
Gloria died just hours after Luella, in the Haunted Woods due to ailment. She held her sister’s corpse until she shed her own, and found Luella’s spirit waiting for her. Together, they spent time in the woods, attempting to find their way out- and eventually succeeded! However, when they reached their home, no one could see nor hear them. By this point, her mother fell mad with grief at the loss of two of her children, and they arrived just moments before a carriage came to take their father, Roger Addams, to an asylum. She held the ghost of Luella tightly as they cried. Their father shouted about The Anax, shadows, and madness, and away he went.
Gloria, especially, tried to communicate with her mother, to no avail, until her youngest sister, Evelyn (Evelyn Addams's namesake), used an Ouija board. Luella came to fetch Gloria, and the two found they could communicate with their sister through the board. This went on for some time, until their mother caught Evelyn using the board, and not only destroyed it, but also dragged Evelyn from the home. They departed, and though Gloria and Luella attempted to follow, once they reached the southern border of the area, they found themselves teleported back to their decayed bodies in the woods. There would be no escape for the two girls from Ghost Nook Island. They stayed in their house, watching as Wakefield become nothing more than a ghost town over the decades, and every Halloween, they hid from The Anax as he patrolled the land seeking souls for his boon.
The Anax: Call of the Cursed One
In The Anax: Call of the Cursed One, Gloria is briefly seen in the perspective of Anaximanes Ravenhurst. She is the daughter of the preacher Roger Addams. She is more prominent in the novel as a ghost. Eve Addams, by luck or fate, found the two girls in their home, and they regaled their sad tale, yet their words affected the rest of the night, for they divulged to Eve that The Anax appeared every Halloween! Eve rushed back to the woods as Gloria and Luella waved farewell!
After The Anax finished his transformation of Gloria into a Shadowed, he left the home, putting the Addams ghosts to guard duty. When Evelyn and the group of women she hid with, stumbled upon the pair, the ghosts set about trying to possess the living. Gloria possessed the weak-minded Mercedes, and gave her to The Anax upon his arrival. When the sun rose the next day, Gloria’s spirit fled into the Shadowlands where she still haunts at The Anax’s side.

After Gloria and Luella watched Evelyn rush off to escape with her friends, the two ghost girls, floated back into their home. There, they talked until the sunset, and then they retreated to their yearly hiding places. Gloria hid inside the chimney, and Luella stayed inside her armoire. Little did either girl realize what would happen next. For over a century, The Anax went through the town every Halloween, but he did not search every possible space, and he had no idea that either Gloria or Luella haunted the island. However, his obsession to find Eve, the very girl they meant to help, sent him looking everywhere he could think of, and where else to start his search, but the old Addams house! He found Luella first, hiding in her armoire, and after twisting her soul into his service, she happily led him to Gloria.
Gloria tried to escape, but Luella was as incorporeal as she was, and Luella brought her back to The Anax. He remembered how cruel Gloria had been, and delighted in corrupting her soul. He made her eighteen-year-old sister, Luella, fornicate with her, and only after she had cried and begged it to stop, did he warp her essence, instilling his dark will within her.
