Notes and Trivia

The exact origins of Ivor are unknown, though the earliest recordings of him date back as far as the 1300’s. It is unknown where he was born, though his accent would lead one to suspect it lays somewhere in Eastern Europe or Russia. He always stood as a powerful vampire lord, yet Vlad the Impaler remained the strongest of all. Ivor happened to be visiting the Count, when Calis Van Gothen and his vampire hunter’s assaulted the castle. He watched from the shadows, observing the fight and wondering how these pitiful humans could possibly hope to defeat the vampire king. Using Dippel’s steam powered weapons and inventions, they did, and Vlad was defeated! Fearing for his own existence, Ivor slipped out into the night.

Ivor studied the fate of Vlad, obsessing over it, and devised a new way to live. He moved about Europe, never staying in any area for too long, in hopes of eluding the vampire hunters entirely, and it worked! He hid in dark places like sewers, caverns, or random abandoned buildings. He always received word that the vampire hunters had tried to track him, only to fail, and for many years, that was his survival method. However, he spent his own resources and time trying to find Van Gothen’s family, and finally, one of his dark nosferatu agents found them living in Amsterdam! Ivor quickly made his way to the city, and one by one, he, personally, drained the members of their blood over several months. As far as they or the town knew, it was a disease afflicting the area; for, Van Gothen never openly taught anything about vampires being real out of fear of ridicule and fear that chaos might occur.

Ivor took special delight in turning Van Gothen’s own wife into a vampire, and she helped him convert her family. In fact, she personally brought her daughters to her new Master and enjoyed their flesh as he changed them into the undead. By the time Calis returned, it was far too late, and everyone he ever loved had become minions of Ivor! In his emotional state, he proved easy to capture, and Ivor gloated over the would-be hero. Ivor copulated many times with Van Gothen’s wife and daughters right in front of the broken man. However, Ivor’s own emotions had clouded his judgment, and while Van Gothen’s intellect surely was a dangerous obstacle, if he had recollected better, Dippel’s inventions were truly what led to Vlad’s destruction, and Ivor had not focused on the German’s family at all! Dippel attacked Ivor’s forces, and managed to free Van Gothen. Ivor ran terrified from the scene, and slipped across Europe in an attempt to avoid Van Gothen’s ire. Without the need to talk to or visit his family, Calis focused solely on vengeance, and Ivor finally reached the Spanish coast! One night, as he contemplated where he might escape, Eleanora’s voice filled his head.

The witch had created a ritual, and summoned the Lord of the Undead, to Wakefield, New York. Ivor could not ignore the call, and he found passage to the United States. Upon his arrival, she let him know her dark plans, and they forged an alliance. At first, their pact seemed beneficial for Ivor, but Van Gothen arrived and managed to track him down! Eleanora promised Ivor that she would kill the hunters as long as he kept his end of their bargain. Because of her interference, Ivor’s strongest enemy died in the Wakefield tavern. He continued following the deal he made with the witch, sending nosferatu minions dressed like Anaximanes Ravenhurst into the Gypsy Camp and Wakefield to kill the living, but he began to see Eleanora had motives she hid. When the Ravenhurst finally confronted her, Ivor listened from the shadows, waiting for the moment he should strike and subdue Ravenhurst for Eleanora. However, she talked about him as if he were only a tool for her to use, and worse, her plans were far more insidious than he realized. She never mentioned powerful relics hidden in some mansion! Incensed, he ignored her pleas for help, and once Ravenhurst and the witnesses to her murder fled into the night, Ivor descended from the ceiling and drained her of all blood, imbuing her with the vampiric essence, and she rose the next night as his minion.

Knowing she could not directly hurt him, he set about trying to find the relics that Eleanora had sought; only he never could find a vault of any kind. He caught Eleanora often looking into a crystal ball, and finally ordered her to use magic and prove her strength. She cast shadow bolts and a few other spells, but not she did not have most spells in memory, and the nosferatu could not locate her spell book The Book of Shadows. She told him of premonitions and bade him to go to the west coast, that there he would not only have the ability to build an empire, but she could get the revenge she wanted on Brone Lorcan. He followed her advice, warily, and made Portland, Oregon his new lair. The shanghai tunnels worked perfectly for his vampire minions, and he changed Lorcan into a nosferatu. He made Lorcan serve as his own butler of sorts, and let Eleanora berate and torture the object of her ire at her desire.

Eleanora told Ivor that some old artifacts of power had made their way to Portland from all the trade ships, and she sought these for herself and her master, until her crystal began showing repeat visions of a woman dressed in red, killing Ivor! That delighted her, but she saw her own fate, and she too would die unless Ivor stopped the fiery woman! Ivor feared these visions, and sent Brone after the target. He considered Brone little more than a test subject, and if she killed Brone, he would assemble a stronger group. After all, Ivor sees everyone expendable but himself!
