Character Types: Classes

Character Typing

In the Anaxverse, character typing helps provide additional detail on a character and what they are proficient at. All characters have a typing in some way. These are usually metaphysical descriptions of their character, and can range from profession classifications to faction classifications.

Class Types

Throughout the lore of Brandon Somerville, characters from all sorts of walks of life are used. Following are a list of characters that can be interacted with in some way in the lore, and the type they have. The list is arranged alphabetically.

Casus Fortuitus

This class is still relatively unknown. Characters are bolstered with psychic energies, lying dormant but seeming to expel this energy in times of dire stress or emotion. It allows for godlike power, allowing the capability to blast away at a target with psychic waves, freeze time in a temporal stasis, and even fly.

Ghost Hunter

Ghost hunters are characters who seek out ghosts, spirits, phantoms, and other incorporeal entities. They will use several devices to aid in their search. While many hunt to remove the spirits, some simply try to find them and speak to them. Ghost hunters generally have access to some sort of power; either by extension of a teammate or by themselves.

Heroine

This class is still relatively unknown. Heroines likely have some higher level of power, and they can be identified by the costumes they wear.

Monster Hunter

Monster hunters are general fighting class hunters, able to approach and defeat all sorts of monsters discovered in the lore. While not specializing in one monster type, monster hunters are among the best of their type, able to combat many different sorts of enemies. Their weapons vary based upon the monster they are fighting. They can have additional innate powers to better combat monsters.

Necromancer

Necromancers use shadow magic to bend natural life forces. While many think of reanimation, this is just one power of a necromancer. They can also whither targets, and blast away at entities with their shadow magic. Necromancers have control over the dead, extending their will to corpses and skeletons.

Shapeshifter

Some characters more in tune with the nature around them can take form of the creatures of nature. Able to morph into animals, these characters get the physical benefits of what they transform into, while retaining the intellect of their human selves.

Witch

There are several types of witches in the lore. These are magical beings, and through the use of various recipes and magic they can twist various attributes of objects and people around them. They can imbue their magic into items and potions, or use their magic in a more direct way.

Wizard

Wizards can manifest their power from the tomes they read. While still powerful in their own right, they have the capability of conjuring monstrous entities through their magic. They can also send out powerful spouts of magic, being as devastating or subtle as the wizard intends.
