Pediophobia

Definition

  • The unwarranted, irrational and persistent fear or worry of dolls.

Notable Characters

In the novel The Anax: Call of the Cursed One, the entity known as The Anax subjects women to their worst fears. One such woman is Sadie Garner, whom has pediophobia. In her corruption to become a Shadowed, the Anax locks her inside of a body that can only be moved by moving a small doll. Sadie is aware inside, but must mechanically follow on the outside. The Anax plays with her movements, before having her strip. As Sadie faces more and more of her fear, she is asked to perform a task to have it end. She is to take the original small doll, inside herself. The doll grabs her quickly, as her fear spikes, and merges with Sadie. As Sadie gives in to the doll, her eyes go white, her fear disappears, and her fetish takes place. Her skin turns plastic, and she identifies as a doll. Given she doesn't need her soul anymore, she gives it to The Anax.
