There are many different types of witches in the Anaxverse.  The term “witch” is an umbrella term and can come to encompass many different magical practitioners.  However, plague witches are those that have an affinity and power over disease, pestilence, and sicknesses.  They can cause poxes, illness, and other maladies, but far more than those that afflict mere flesh and bone.  Plague witches can devise magical diseases of pure corruption magicks, which rot the very soul of the afflicted.  The effects vary based on the power of the caster, but they might become evil or twisted- or their very body may mutate as they become monstrosities.  They often make brews in cauldrons, and these vessels will emit foul clouds of spiritually toxic corruption.  Because of this type of spellcasting, they often have green flesh and eyes, and their hair becomes black, gray, or green.  Because of their affinities, they are almost always allied in some way or another with Nergal or his minions.  Anathema Sadsallow and Baba Yaga are two of the most infamous plague witches in the world.
