Chernobog

"Only entropy is certain. Only within oblivion can death die."

Biography

Chernobog was the largest and perhaps eldest of all dark gods. Larger than a mountain, massive in scale, the behemoth devoured all things in his path including light itself. The Shadowlands are considered the lowest frequency of existence, with the Outer Darkness beyond being absolute oblivion. However, at one time Chernobog dwelled there. Gluttonous and vast, his only known desire to motivation is to consume everything, everywhere, in all frequencies of reality, all dimensions. Over untold millennia, he had managed to devour a hole through the dimensions, leaving black nothingness in his wake. The dark god chomped through the Shadowlands, through the Hellscape, Tartarus and onward.

The dark god’s plan was to eat until he could chomp his way into the Physical World. There, he would devour all reality. It is much easier to go down dimensions than upwards, and once the Physical World was erased, he would return through the Outer Darkness frequencies, again leaving nothingness. Engorged with all that was, he’d turn towards the Inner Light, and finally consume those dimensions until only entropy remained. However, knowing of the dimension of knowledge known as The Library, he wanted to first consume all the knowledge that ever was, to help ensure that there would be no chance of a hero or force finding out any possible way to stop his mission. However, as his massive maw surrounded The Library, Hypatia, the Librarian, called upon all her knowledge and power, and she remains the only known entity in the entirety of reality to have obliterated a dark god.

Chernobog’s very cohesion and existence fell apart, falling like a shadowy rain on all the frequencies of the Outer Darkness. While she defeated him, she did not truly kill him. The falling debris of Chernobog’s bloated body poisoned the already corrupted corners of the Outer Darkness, painting those areas in a black and purple hue. And, a singular fragment of the dark god eventually made its way into the Physical Realm. Anything that touches that solidified piece of void- instantly becomes enraptured and enslaved to Chernobog’s dark will. This was learned firsthand by the necromancer, Ilihana Fernández. Desperately trying to find a way to reassemble himself- Chernobog still hungers.
