In [[The Anax: Call of the Curse One]], Kaya is part of the [[Female Phantom Finders]], a group which involves [[Evelyn Addams]]. They had heard of hauntings on a nearby island, so went to check it out. In the novel, Kaya is dating [[Shiloh Hazeldine]]. The two escape the initial onslaught of [[The Anax]], but are caught in the basement a few hours later. After waiting for a while, Kaya decided to go explore. She was promptly taken by The Anax.

Kaya is a 24 year old woman originally from Haiti. She has an athletic frame.

== Notes and Trivia ==

Kaya is a member of the all woman paranormal society called the [[Female Phantom Finders]]. She was born in Haiti, and her family moved to New York City when she was only three years old, so she does not retain the accent. Her grandmother taught her much about the Loa- spirits of voodoo. The one that intrigued her most was [[Baron Samedi]], which, in part, led to her study of the paranormal. When in a graveyard one night, she met [[Shiloh]], now they have been dating for years, and they are the originators of the paranormal society. Even though both women are the founders, Kaya tends to be more of the manager. She speaks plainly- even brashly, and can come off rough sometimes, but she always means well. Since the [[Dagan Erebus]] incident, she often tries pairing [[Evelyn]] with [[Harper]] in a misinformed attempt to have the two become friends again. Of course, that is only because she does not know the truth about Eve. Once they reached the island, Kaya specifically fought for Eve to summon [[The Anax]] herself.

== Transformation ==

[[The Anax]] caught Kaya in the kitchen, and drove his claw into her mind. He used her [[pyrophobia]] to tear down her mental walls. During the process for Kaya to become [[Shadowed]], The Anax creates a monstrous funnel of flame. The being of intense heat is floating there, but The Anax motions it closer to Kaya. It swirled around her, the heat licking her skin, but no damage coming to her beyond that. She's fighting the fear of being burned. The creature feigns to fly away, before darting back. Kaya's skin starts fading to ash. She agrees to give up her soul, for the need to stop the burning. Her resistance drains, and she awakens, cured of her burns.

After becoming [[Shadowed]] Kaya's skin turned gray, her eyes glowed green, and she acted more erotic.

After [[The Anax]] appeared, Kaya grabbed [[Shiloh’s]] hand and rushed into the Haunted Woods. Shiloh noticed [[Angela]] following them, and Kaya stopped so Angela could catch up. Kaya took the lead, and after running around the island for a while, they went back to find the boat missing! She and Shiloh decided to go to [[Ravenhurst Manor]]. There, the girls took refuge in the basement, after Kaya cleaned it out of all spider webs for her girlfriend, and, they remained there, unsure what was happening outside. After several hours, Kaya could not remain patient any longer, and she kissed Shiloh, and went to investigate. She hoped to find other people, and she almost did. [[Eve]] happened to come into the manor and went into the basement. Kaya heard someone and went to follow, and The Anax heard Kaya.

After her transformation, The Anax ordered her to guard the basement and not let the women escape while he searched the manor for Evelyn. When she found Eve in the basement, she called for him, but only Shiloh remained at her side. The Anax corrupted her soul as well, and the pair worked hard to find Eve- and they did! They saw her leap from the attic window when they climbed the stairs, and they gave chase, only to lose her in the woods. They found her yet again in the grasslands near the old Gypsy Camp, but she summoned a whirlwind of darkness and hurled the two [[Shadowed]] lovers into the sky. Their last attack came when [[Brittany]] assembled an army, but Evelyn had grown so powerful that she banished all the Shadowed, Kaya included, into the [[Shadowlands]]! Now, she serves The Anax forever in that dimension of darkness.
